\n\n**Workshop Itinerary**:\n\n * Test and Increase your soldering skills
with this challenge in the shape of Stonehenge.\n * Prior soldering experi
ence helps\, but is not mandatory\n * The components are mounted in an un
 orthodox way making this a unique challenge\n * Kit includes\n * Em
 pty PCB\n * All the parts needed for assemly\n * A 3D-printed m
ultipurpose base\n * Nice base to display the finished board\n
          * Store components during assembly\n * Protect the fini
shed board for transport by placing it upside down\n * The board features
a `CH32V203` microcontroller which can easily be programmed without extra
tools\n\n**Registration**: \nBuy a kit at the Hardware Hacking Area to g

  Badge-Making (choice of 2 kits)**\n\n**Materials costs**: \n€25\n\n**T
aught by** fablab|nk.\n\n**Workshop Itinerary**: \nChoose to build one of
  two badge-kits: a drawable-reusable LED convention badge (1 hour\, beginn
er skill level) or a beam-catching light-to-sound synthesiser badge (2 hou
rs\, intermediate skill level)\n\nAbout the SynthLab “Beam-Catcher” Ba
 dge:\nA special-edition light-to-sound synthesiser badge based on Dylan B'
s open-source Beam Catcher project. Wave a DIY photoresistive probe over 6
tunable LED’s to amplify light frequencies and create your own drone-to
nes. ‘Break-out’ your badge and power it with a 9V battery or leave it
intact and use it as your first Eurorack synth module (see it in action i
n our DIY rack at our assembly!). This project comes out of our weekly Syn
thLab audio hardware meetups at fablab|nk and is designed to be a first-in
troduction kit to DIY synthesiser building for new visitors :)\n\nAbout th
e Mechmon Drawable Convention Badge:\nCreate your own unique\, reusable co
nvention badge! This fun hands-on project lets you solder a 555-timer base
d LED badge that blinks and shows off your style. The screenprinted avatar
area can be drawn on with a whiteboard marker\, then easily erased to des
ign new faces or characters again and again. Perfect for makers and conven
 tion-goers alike\, this workshop combines creativity\, electronics\, and p
ersonalization—so you can stand out with a badge that’s truly one of a
kind at 39C3 and your next event\n\n**Registration**: \nBuy a kit at the
Hardware Hacking Area to guarantee a seat\, or come by early! (And please
do arrive early\, regardless!) First come\, first served.\n\n**Links**:

 5.— €\n\n## Taught by\n[Arne](https://events.ccc.de/congress/2025/hub/
en/user/arne)\n\n## Workshop Itinerary\nWe will assemble and solder the [T
 icTacLights Nano Colour](https://wiki.blinkenarea.org/index.php/TicTacLigh
tsNanoColourEnglish) kit together. No prior knowledge of reflow soldering
is required\, but a steady hand (go easy on caffeine!) and good eyes are u
seful.\n\n**The steps we'll go through are:**\n1. Apply solder paste to th
e front board with a stencil\n2. Place the 144 LEDs on the board one-by-on
e\, using tweezers (this can easily take a couple of hours)\n3. Solder the
LEDs on a hot plate\n4. Apply solder paste to the back of the board with
another stencil\n5. Place the microcontroller\, capacitors\, resistors and
other components on the board one-by-one\n6. Solder the components with a
hot air\n7. Repeat the same steps for the 2nd board (with far fewer compo
nents on it)\n8. Test and debug the boards (this can take until after midn
ight if there are many problematic boards)\n\n## Registration\nTo register
for this workshop\, please buy a kit at the [BlinkenArea](https://hub.tes
t.c3voc.de/assembly/detail/blinkenarea) assembly *as early as possible*. O
nly a limited number of kits is available.\n\nIf you have any questions or
would like to see an already built TicTacLights Nano Colour first\, pleas
e visit us at the BlinkenArea.\n
